 londinium recording the gluepot connection

This whole collection is of a very high standard, the choice of pieces inspired, the singing articulate, voices disciplined and finely tuned to shape and line and sensitively coloured to the atmosphere and character...

Londinium welcomes applications and enquiries from experienced singers who are interested in joining a committed and friendly choir.

In addition to a regular season of four to five cental London concerts a year, the choir accepts a number of other engagements, both in and out of London. Londinium works on a project basis, with rehearsals usually on Tuesday evenings (7pm - 9.30pm) at St John's Waterloo, and occasional Saturdays at venues in the City or near Waterloo.  Rehearsals for own-promotion concerts typically take place over a period of five weeks, and include two all-day (10.30am - 4.30pm) Saturday rehearsals.

Our singers are drawn from a 'pool', which gives the choir the flexibility to meet the requirements of each project, but it is kept to a size which gives members of the choir as many opportunities to sing as possible. Singers do not have to make themselves available on each occasion, but there is a strong emphasis on maintaining a core group who work together regularly and take part in most performances. There is a subscription payable for each concert, to cover music and contribute towards our rehearsal costs. This is capped at £50, and is reduced for students and in other cases.

Auditions are taken by the Musical Director; auditionees are asked to bring a piece which they would like to sing and will be accompanied. There is also a sight-reading test.

Please fill in the form on our Contact page, stating your voice part and providing details of your singing experience, to request an audition.
